MMFA CODE OF CONDUCT FOR COACHES
- The coach shall serve as a role model for all participants in the MMFA program. As such, the coach shall exemplify appropriate and ethical behaviors including honesty, integrity, fair play, and sportsmanship.
- The coach shall be on time and actively participate in all practices, games, and other event.
- The coach shall provide a safe and healthy atmosphere for athletes and assistant coaches.
- The coach shall be knowledgeable in safety techniques and supervise the team with safety as a top priority.
- The coach shall be alcohol, drug, and tobacco free at all team activities.
- The coach shall respect, support, and encourage all athletes with consistency and equality.
- The coach shall maintain a positive attitude with the team. The coach shall not publicly (in-person and/or social media) be demoralizing to any athlete or coach or put any athlete or coach down in any way nor give special consideration to any one athlete or group of athletes or coach within the team.
- The coach shall promote the MMFA program and direct the team in harmony with MMFA rules.
- The coach shall maintain a positive and professional demeanor and communicate appropriately with parents, coaches, committee members, board members, officials, and community members.
- The coach shall support and follow the chain of command. First, discuss and resolve any issues with your athlete and/or their parents. Next, you would go to the VP of your respective group. Last, if the problem is still not resolved, you would take it to the MMFA President. Most problems, if any, are resolved with the athlete and, or parent.
